Ok here it is after 4 or 5 years of threats I've finally got it built. hehehe
This is a dualstage drywasher that classifies the material 1/4 inch and smaller goes into the top riffle tray and 1/4 inch and bigger goes into the bottom riffle tray, I can also change that to 1/16th if i wish.
Next is the vac feeder! I will post it when finished
Thanks Gat

Sorry Redpaw,
We were in the middle of adding the pic when you posted. :)
Gat and I are headed to meet MTPan in Dusienberg, give it a test in the Ca. dirt, then headed to Arizona for addtional testing! ;)
We'll keep ya posted on the results.
Here is another pic that is a bit clearer.

Wish I could take the credit for this monster but this is Gat's creation....I just keep egging him on. laugh.gif

Unfortunately looks like we may be shoveling though....Dang it!. <_<
Gat has to do some more work on the vac feed but the field test is gonna happen anyway.
We'll just have to try our best to keep up shoveling for now. ;)

Hehehe well did a little testing with it yesterday can you imagine how hard it is to get dry dirt here in Colorado! hahaha Lucky I had a 1/4 bucket stashed in the garage grin well it works, I didnt have enough dirt for a good test but I dropped in 5 nuggets varying in size from pin head size to 1/4 oz. Well all I can say is that it caught all 5 of them. Now this was just a test and really not a good one cause of lack of enough dirt but the results are encouraging.
The vac... well its not putting out as I had hoped but I'm not the type to quit on an idea right now I've changed the tact to this, I've put the vac box on a trailer and made sure the door will open to the height of a bucket so I can fill the bucket and then feed the drywasher for this trip it will be fine this way. While on this trip wie'll do more testing of the vac, (like how high will it continue to perform and how long a hose can be used.) any how I will keep you all informed.
Thanks Gat

Ok! :) I got the trailer vac done. It's funny how you start a project and it ends up being more than you intended! Ok in one picture you see the vac set up to suck up the dry creek bed, this way I can either let it dump in to the buckets or right in to the trailer bed. Then in the next you see the vac in the drywasher
loading position, this way I can suck out the bottom of the trailer or dump the buckets in the drywasher grizzly.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks Gat

Howdy All,
Great looking drywasher! I was looking at a web site about a 5oz nugget a couple of guys found in the Antelope Valley near Stanton. They were drywashing on their claim and came across an incredible piece they named the eye of the needle nugget. It has a small hole formed in it... very remarkable piece! :o
They managed to uncover another nugget that same day but it "only" weighed in at 2.3 oz... sheesh... :P
Happy Trails,
Johnny

I just talked to the guys Yesterday. All is going well with their outing.
I made them promise to take pictures of the drywasher when they have it running,
but there not the photo takers that I am. :P
Hopefully they will take some, and post them here.
I really want to see them, and the drywasher working. :D

Hello everyone, Well, we are back. Had a great time in Duesenburg and Stanton. I'm sorry but I lost all my pics from Duesenburg, but was real lucky Dan got some of Stanton.
Ok, well now to the results of the tests we did on the dual stage drywasher! :D
I'm very proud of this equipment. It performed very well in a comparison with the people down the dry creek bed. They were there for two weeks and had a little less gold then we did in just two days. Grin laugh.gif
Ok, I did find a few things that made it work even better. For one, I found that I could overflow the grizzly and by controlling the overflow could use more of the lower riffle tray. This proved to be very good in the recovery of more gold than the basic single riffle tray set up. Also, I found that we could run six 5-gallon buckets in 5 to 8 minutes.
Now on the vac. It did work, but not as good as hoped. It will need more testing and reworking to get the results I'm hoping for.
Here are a few pics of the dual stage drywasher working. Let me know what you think.
Gat.
