We thought we would post some basics for the CP auctions as they are getting some new folks in attendance.

The auctions are held on Friday nights at 6:30pm MST time. Edited by CP-1/11/08
Location is the CP main chat room and everyone is welcome!
Tell all your friends to join in as well...we have a great time and the deals are pretty good too. wink.gif

Payments are all handled through the paypal system by clicking the CP home page (top banner on this page), then scroll down to the "pay fer' it" button to pay for your winning bid at the auction.
On the chat page, the home page link will be to the left in the green shaded area.
Always remember.......if you click that "pay fer' it" on the chat page you will fall through the trap door (dropped off chat) and ol' Faaus will laugh at you...... laugh.gif So make sure to click the home page first. wink.gif

We also will have reserve/opening "R/O" bids on each item or lot on the block each week.

**For all shopping sprees the following exclusions apply**

Specimens over $500
CP club memberships
Cafe press items (CP gear)
PLP memberships

We are always interested to hear what everyone would like to see on the block that you haven't seen yet or stuff you would like to see again. smile.gif

Feel free to browse the CP Miners Market for those of you interested in the shopping spree vouchers. We are continually adding more things to those pages and it's a great place to find the perfect gifts for the mineral/gem nuts on your list.

We will be holding auctions on Friday nights from now on so that more can attend and it's not a work night. wink.gif

The first of the auctions for 2008 will be held on 1/18/08 at 6:30 pm MST.

We will post a new thread with specific items on the block in this section of the forum. Check back soon and we will see everyone on Friday the 18th.

Theres a tack and horse auction at Union City, PA the second Saturday of the month.
I think tack starts at 10 AM maybe 11 AM and horses around 3 PM.

Also, at Homer City Indiana Co they have auctions, but I dont know when they are.

If there is enough interest shown, we may just do that. groucho.gif
What kind of items would you like to see on the auction block if it is brought back?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the interest OkieJon!

As a newbie gold panner, what about auctioning off a day of panning and instruction. Maybe things like where to go, what to look for what structure to look for, how to read a river, using a sluice/highbanker/dredge. Would something like that get any interest?

Just a thought -

Thanks guys and great input. happy088.gif
I can see most of this happening with interest growing....how should we set them up?
I'm thinking some timeline of sorts...ie 2 weeks or a month? shorter? longer? Each could of course have it's own thread to run on and have bidding while open.
Don't know how the logistics of travel would work out with a day of panning instructions and or sluicing. Depending on travel costs that may not work out?
We always try to make a point of doing these type demos/discussions at club gatherings too. wink.gif

Keep the input coming folks, hopefully we do have enough interested posters to open some future actuions.
