This season I went prospecting on my claims for gold, while I was playing with the dredge my wife pulled out 2 interesting looking rocks. I'm really curious to know what it might be. Probably nothing fancy. When it comes to the rocks I'm dumb as a rock lol :) I can only tell if it's garnet or not as I get lot's of them panning, I can't even tell difference between quartz and topaz.
So here we go. First one is the light grey colour with red dots in it. now x40+ magnification of the same rock. Second is light green with the light grey as the main colour and has darker green spots in it. When wet grey fades away and it looks totally green with darker green spots. and again x40+ magnification |

Cool looking rocks you found Evg! It is always hard to tell just by photos but we do have a link that might help you identify them. It's titled "Mineral Id'ing". http://www.coloradoprospector.com/forums/i...?showtopic=2088
There is also another link titled "Mohs Hardness", another tool to help identify finds. http://www.coloradoprospector.com/forums/i...?showtopic=2119 I hope this info helps you some, sorry I couldn't be more help though. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,
