I was digging at Arapahoe Bar this past weekend and found this agate in my 8 mesh classifier. This was pretty high up on the sand bar, then down deep so it's not something that would have been deposited recently. I did some research, admittedly not a lot, and I found a few mentions of agate found at mines in Clear Creek County, but not any found in Clear Creek itself. I've never noticed agate in my classifiers before, and I always go through the screen looking for gold in quartz or any other interesting rocks. Does anyone know where along Clear Creek agate would originate? I like the banding in this one and I'd like to try to go find some more. It's pictured on top of my hat so you can use the hat button for size.

Cool piece! Given it was likely amongst the dredge tailings, no telling where in the creek it came from or how long it took to get where it ended up.
