Supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow. Think I'll head up to the canyon and scope out an ice free spot to spend the day!

Cancel that; headed out to Mike/Dave's invite

Just went through the entire thread, trying to recreate my trips for the year for taxes (quickly followed by a New Year resolution to actually document my trips throughout the year instead of doing it this way lol)

Great 2016 @ CC; look forward to 2017!!

This was on 12/30, and I can't imagine it's gotten better. A bit too much ice for me, particularly since the gold is across the ice/water.

Doesn't look to inviting Emac. I think I will stay out of the canyon until that ice starts to break up. Looks like Abar for the rest of the winter for me.

Ya, looking at last year's pics, it wasn't until Feb that we started to work it again :(

I haven't been up there in weeks, so I'm curious too!

Nice finds Jason; you're killing it at A-bar looks like!

Anyone been in the canyon recently? How is the ice looking?

I have been commuting the canyon on a daily basis and it is looking really good right now in most locations all the way up to the Bllackhawk light. Most of the ice is gone, or manageable. Only the sun starved bends are holding the big ice. Of course, that could all change with the weather but for now it looks great! I am totally socked-in with work or I'd be hittin it hard now. I may get a day or two between now and the 27th... otherwise I'm committed solid to work projects until at least early March. I've got the itch cuz it's been way too long now. A few more good trips and I will have a 1/2 oz vial full from CC. She has been good to me.
Hard to keep my eyes on the road driving that canyon. smiley-laughing021.gif
