Hello Muggoo. Welcome to the CP site. I am glad that you took my advice about checking out this site. Most everyone that comes here becomes regulars. Everyone is encouraged to jump in and be a part with stories of thier own, comments on others posts, or just posting pics of thier adventures or finds. Even folks like me. A rockhound instead of a nugget head have a place here. Look for my name to see some of my interests. Jim

Hi all, I just joined the CP forums. There is alot of information on this forum. I live in Texas between Houston and Dallas. I wish I lived about 900 miles closer to Co, that would make my trips easier. I panned in the Silverton area a few years back and I did find some color. I have been searching for areas I can pan, sluice for color. I am going to make a trip maybe 2 trips if I am lucky this 2012 season. I will be there for at least a week on my 1st trip and hopefully I will get a 2nd trip in. My entire trip will be spent searching for color. I am getting the classifier screens, a full set, and I am getting the blue bowl for fines. I have a pan set and a sluice, and I want to try to wear them out. I will be joining the CP club shortly, and hopefully I can find some places to work. Good luck everybody/
Hi Placer and welcome to the CP forums! Make yourself at home browsing the website, and we all look forward to your future participation. It's a bit cold for panning right now here in Colorado but warmer weather is on it's way.
Hello everyone. Just joined as a yearly member after reading through some of the posts on the forum. I've recently started prospecting on my downtime from work. It fits in perfectly with my other hobbies (hiking/4wheeling/camping), and so I figured I'd join the club as a member instead of just stalking the forum. I've got a ton of questions (a good majority of them are likey to be stupid) regarding terminology, mining rights and techniques, but I'll try my best to see if they've already been answered elsewhere on the site. In the meantime, thanks for all of the great advice so far!
Troy,
Welcome to CP!
There are no questions too basic here. Definitely ask away and don't be shy. One of the prime directives here is to get folks started off on the right foot and provide the resources to make sure everything you're doing is legal, safe, and within your rights. Doesn't matter if the question has already been answered and archived. If you can't find it in short order through the search function, we're happy if you open a new discussion and will help ya out.
We're here for you. Thank you for joining!
Hi Troy and welcome!
As Swizz said, make yourself right at home and don't be shy about asking questions if ya' can't find an answer, we'll be happy to help you out with those anytime.
Glad to have you aboard, dig right in!
Do you have to be a special type of member to be able to access this section of the forums? Or was the special password within the email I received after I joined and maybe didn't realize it?
Thanks for your time
Hi dukeboy and welcome to the CP forums. That section of the forums is for the ColoradoProspector club members. They receive the password in the monthly newsletters that we send out to them.
You can learn more about the membership at this link.

Hi, Ozarkgoldhound hear! Kind of new at prospecting but we have a claim and are very excited about working the summer. I like this forum, the other one I'm on is a lot more of a tools sellers forum plus mining. This seems more of a prospecting and do's and dont's. That is what is most needed! Thanks coloradoprospcetor.com.
Hi there! Welcome to the forums! It's a little bit of everything prospecting. Feel free to browse and chime in or ask any questions and someone here will most likely have an answer for you.
Welcome! Glad you found us! Look forward to hearing about your success on you claim!!
Nice looking location! In CO?
Very nice looking spot.Good luck to you,

Welcome Ozark!
Hey everyone,
my name is Josh and I moved here from Vermont where in the last couple of years I fell in love with gold panning and such. I am new to this site. I live in Denver and am an upright and electric bassist. But I double as a gold panner. I am looking for friends to go panning with on the claims made available by CPC. I do not have 4wd but would be willing to pay a portion of expenses for someone interested in a gold panning adventure, when it warms. I am an asset to anybody willing to prospect. I trained and educated myself in locating river drops and studied river dynamics. I work very hard and fast after I locate a drop. I am 420 friendly as well, you have to be safe. ok anyone interested joshualoun@gmail.com is my email. peace oh yeah www.whiskeytreats.com is a band I play in.
Welcome to the forum!
Welcome to the forum joshualoun! lots of great info here to keep you busy over the winter, between gigs!
Welcome to the CP forums and club Josh!
Hopefully your finding your way around the site, forums and "researched areas" handy links from your club members welcome e-mail.
When the weather breaks, I'm sure there will be more folks interested in getting out there. Great sounding music, definitely gets the toe tapping!
Let us know if you have any questions and we look forward to your future participation.
Welcome to the club Josh!
I don't have a 4x4 either but there are places to go with paved and maintained roads for access, including some of the researched areas that come with your membership.

Desmond Here
Welcome to the CP forums Desmond! Make yourself at home around the website and let us know if you have any questions, we are always here to help.
Hi guys and gals,
Expyker here. I am a complete and total noob when it comes to prospecting. Looking forward to learning all about it. I have been out panning for gold a few times and found a couple of flakes. It was in a seeded area so I knew there was gold there, but it allowed me to get the technique down. As far as rock hounding I need all the help I can get.
One area that I can help with is on smoking and curing hams and bacons and such.
Again looking forward to chatting with you guys.
Hi Expyker and welcome to the Colorado Prospector forums. Make yourself right at home browsing the website and jump right in on any threads you'd like to post in. We all look forward to your future participation. I'm sure you'll find many helpful threads to help you get a great start out there prospecting for any minerals of interest to you.
Feel free to post up questions as they may arise when you start diggin' into the information, we are always happy to answer questions and help out if we can.
Welcome to the forums Expyker!
Hi y'all! Just joined. My brother and I are located down in Centennial and excited to get into prospecting. We'd like to offer our labor to an experience prospector to get some apprentice training. Perhaps the Clear Creek location?
Thanks!
Welcome JJJ!
As Crusty mentioned, monitor the forums and jump in on one of our outings any time. Some outings are CP Club Member exclusives but we also like to get together with anyone and do stuff at CC and other places. Winter can be a little scarce on outings so be patient.
Certainly make yourself at home here on the forums and ask all the questions you can think of, we're here to help and glad to have you and your brother aboard.
Hi all, Moatsy here. We live in Larkspur. I'm a noob, but looking mainly to rockhound with my kids. I hope to make a million memories not a million bucks.
I have an 8 year old rock freak who will explode if he ever finds a smokey...
Hi Moatsy,
Welcome to the forums and the club! Sounds like you are all really going to enjoy being club members then.
Make yourselves right at home browsing the forums and remember to keep an eye out for field invites in the protected forum from other club members when they go out. We have a very friendly group community here and I'm sure you'll have a super prospecting season with everyone and great finds.
Welcome aboard moatsy!
Howdy folks. Thank you for allowing me to follow your adventures. I am on your site to learn. I used to live in Denver but never prospected before. We are in another State now but plan on retiring in five years or so in Central Colorado. I can't wait to get back. I hope to become a member of your club when I move back there. Thanks again for having me on here.
Welcome Shawnee Man! Looking forward to your future participation and welcome back home to Colorado shortly (well.... 5 yrs anyway).
That is an incredible artwork pic you included. I am assuming that it is pyrography and that you did it.... super nice!
Outstanding!
Coincidentally... I started a thread on Pyrography in the "Prospectors Arts and Crafts" section of our forums a while back: http://www.coloradoprospector.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3812
Not doing anything even close to your level of expertise but I have fun with it once in a while. Please post up some of your works there if you are so inclined and find the time, we'd all love to see more of your magic!
I didn't want to wait, so I googled Mr. Carron and the images coming up on http://www.zazzle.com/endentured/products are nothing short of amazing. Well done sir.
Hello,
New to gem hunting, panned for sapphires in Montana and now we are hooked! This club has so much info not sure where to start or how to navigate around the website. We would love some places to go dig for a fun day out, just not sure where or how to start? Any help would be great! thank you
Welcome to the CP club and forums KraiserInn, good to have you onboard! Since you are new to the club also, I would suggest checking out the club members protected part of the forums. Great information pinned in that section that could help. You can also log into the http://coloradoprospector.com/members/ for some places to go.
Also keep an eye open for club members meet ups posted. Is a great time of the year for going out to dig!!
Welcome; glad you found your way here! I know I was overwhelmed by the amount of awesome info here when I first found the club. Poke around D, ask questions and you'll fit right in!
Welcome Kaiser!
Definitely a lot of info here that is of great value.
We are always happy to help narrow it down too, please ask any questions along the way! Lots of very helpful members here and we get together in the field quite a bit. My focus is more "Gold" oriented but I also enjoy fossil hunting and I'm still learning a lot about crystal hunting and identification. I have not done much of that. There are some real pros here in the club and I continue to learn from them. Glad you found your way here and please make your self at home.
Welcome to the Club KraiserInn!
I also recommend having a look at your researched areas. Also keep your eyes on the protected forums for invites. I am cooking up invites to my claim and other prospects in the near future.
