I stumbled across this on the interwebs.... any thoughts? http://www.goldrushtradingpost.com/inc/sdetail/portable_highbanker_trommel___free_shipping_/33817
If I remember correctly, they are quite pricey. And if you were thinking of using it up at your claim, it seems like that short barrel on the trommel wouldn't be enough time to break up the clay and drop material into the sluice.
Yeah, I agree. I watched the vid they have and it looks pretty small, too small for productive use at my claims. Priced at $1K is a little high also.
Heckler Fabrication has what I want but it's a little over $4K, optional gas or diesel powered: http://www.hecklerfabrication.com/MiniTrommel.html
Cool little machine and at 28# lighter than any machine comparible. The trommel seems small to me and I wonder about the durability being that light weight. There's always give and take there.
The trommel seems like it should be longer to me for some reason. Just seems too short?
It's too rinky dink for my purposes. Now I have my heart set on that Heckler... but the damn price tag. Maybe next year if my business continues to thrive.
Yep the heckler is straight up bad @$$ and would look awesome behind my Subaru. There probably aren't many used ones around so I'll keep dreaming haha.
I'm pretty sure the lil monster is the same one used for the Gold Cube: 5" x 16". Their wheeled trommel, highbanker, dredge thing looks interesting, but small and pricey as well. https://www.goldfoxusa.com/_p/prd1/1116169421/product/3-in-1-high-banker%2C-8''-trommel-%2C-dredge
You could always go local (Brighton) if you're looking at big: http://www.msi-mining.com/home.html.
I looked at MSI... way too big for me.
Whatcha think? They don't list price unfortunately.
