Great info Denise happy088.gif I've just pinned this too since it had dropped in the list a ways.
Very valuable reference material.

Hi Jon, you're very welcome and yes I think it is accurate. I have some question as to accuracy on a map the BLM site shows for claims along the Ark area but the claim filing pages and info are great references for sure. happy088.gif

I particulary like the new points they've added about states you can file claims in still....from their "federal lands open to mining" page......
QUOTE
There are federally administered lands in 19 States where you may locate a mining claim or site. These States are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Sweet!! Even Mississippi has some public lands to explore!

Another great tid bit from the same paragraph just for everyones references. happy112.gif
QUOTE
In these States, the BLM manages the surface of public lands and the Forest Service manages the surface of National Forest System lands. The BLM is responsible for the subsurface on both public lands and National Forest System lands.

Happy diggin' everyone!
