We don't use this one, it's just for show now...and yes it is a hazardous material and not something you want to be rubbing and sniffing on.

These were actually used as pocket warmers. Here is a quote from wiki... QUOTE Charcoal hand-warmers provide heat through the burning of charcoal in a special case.
