Borke out the old coinmaster 4000 the other day when a friend wanted to check out this old miners cabin with his detector. On the way he was teasing me for bringing my old machine but I just stayed polite and informed him the ole girl still just might surprise him.

ok ok the pull tabs he found but the rest belong to the coinmaster

its been a good day! smiley-laughing021.gif

The stove name plate really surprised me as it was at almost 11" and the rest of the targets was at about 6 to 7 inches. The cm4000 was reaching pretty deep but the areas rocks had a high iron content and was making the search a bit difficult but I'm going to purchase a new machine next week to be my main rig and keep the coinmaster for my backup, looking in the 350.range as dont have alot of cash right now, anyone have a tech F4 or ace 250, are they good machines? would like some options to choose from, from practical users point of view

Smackz, I'm new to the CP but had read your post, great finds thumbsupsmileyanim.gif . I have the ACE250 and really like it, it's done a great job for the little hunting I've done around here in town (Denver area) and up in the RR area. Be careful and dont let the FS see ya dig up things around the old sites as they have a hissy fit over it and really get mad when you take stuff from the old sites, 100+ years old is concidered historical. My family has had a cow camp cabin up in the White river NF (170+yrs) and when some of us cosins went and stayed in it one summer we were taking some of the old items from it and they raised a stink, I guess the cabin had been designated as a historical site and was under the protection of the law, BUT! because our family owned all of these items it wasn't much of a battle, as we still used the cabin and paid the fees all these years for the use of the land when running cattle in the NF. good luck on other treasure hunts and be carefull.
