Hi all,
I am about to embark on my first lapidary adventure and thought I'd keep you abreast since I will need some valuable help and opinions. chores041.gif

Here is a pic of my 8" Inland Swap-Top which I will start with.

I'm thinking of a simple project first like this Grand County specimen I found. I would like to make a basic trim cut to further expose the pocket and hopefully some agate rings will polish-out on the flat surface that I cut. Good Idea for my first project?

I'm very interested in your experiments with this project. I wish I had the abilaty to take on such a task. I will be keep my eye on you with this one. Hope everything comes out good for you. Woody.

If I retain all of my fingers I will consider this project a success.

Cool agate with a druzy! I think it sounds like a great idea. When trimming it freehand like it is, be very careful not to feed the saw too quick.

Im looking forward to seeing how it turns out for you. Keep us posted on your progress.
