Thanks everyone!
That was some pretty good advice you guys gave me. I didn't even have to ask for gold and equipment though! ^_^ Dad and mom gave me a sluice box , gat gave me Neoprene chest waders, Bill TX gave me a multipurpose shovel, and I STILL got gold from diggin' at the trommel ramp on my birthday!
