Sorry it's been so long since either of us posted, we've been swamped with things to do around here and our pc spent some time in the shop, still trying to find all our favorite websites and stuff!! Looks like I missed Denise's Birthday...I'm sowwy...HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!
**Taken from Bill's post at Leonards site: After enjoying a fun, relaxing, coffee swilling morning it was time to head out to the claim by 12:30pm. Old Blue is in the hospital so I drove a little truck from the boss's ranch home from Etna. Every time I go out to the claims I get side tracked. I spent 1 hour BS'n with a guy on the road. I spent a couple hours hiking and finding all kinds of neat stuff. Time to start a sampling. Spent some time pushing the loose material out of the way,and exposing the channel. I punched in and started to strike what I believe may be the bedrock. Digging is hard and the stuff is like picking solid rock, but then shatters into nice pebbles and rounded rocks.I will run this stuff thru a power sluice on the beach tomorrow, because I am to lazy to pan it. I have to get some rocker boxes dang it! The 6 cu.ft. wheelbarrow is over 3/4 full and took 5-5 gallon buckets. You can see from the size of the small coyote hole it will be one hell of a swell factor to deal with in the log book. I will punch in at least 6 foot to get a good look at the material, then sample another layer. Sledge and chisel time. I will have to get a slide hammer! LOTS of pics from Bill's outing here!!! -------------------- "The original point and click interface was a Smith and Wesson."
