Sometimes taking the pictures are the toughest thing to get done to ones own satisfaction. happy.gif

I've had days when over 100 pics turned out 12 I liked... dry.gif laugh.gif

So we thought maybe we could have a thread for tips on successful picture taking and questions for those learning.

Anyone have anything they have been frustrated with taking pictures of lately?

This picture was taken with a Canon powershot A85
Med res-180 dpi and then cropped & resized for the forum.
Manual light and focus settings with tripod used on close up setting.
Field of view in pic shown approx: 35 mm

Ok who has questions or examples to share?

Mrs.CP, the pick has a smile because of all the love/enjoyment you put into makeing it! and a reflection from the camara!

Thanks Russ......And thats right about the reflection. Good job!

Here is one I took the other day of a Broad-Tailed Hummingbird. Turned out a little blury......but it wasnt so willing to sit still for me... happy.gif

Guess I should have set the settings for action shots also, and not just close up.

Hi Skip, Avatars need to be resized before uploading them. Size needed is 64x64 pixels or smaller. wink.gif Than once resized, you can browse for it in your control panel. Let me know if you have any problems.

Your right about the sun glare, with a refraction in the lens.
Sure turned out strange didnt it?

Glad this folder is here... I love taking pictures, it is a hobby I've thrown quite a bit of cash at and am still trying to get better at. I know there is lots of tutorials out there on YouTube and elsewhere, but my ADHD doesn't allow me to stay focused long enough to read directions or watch a long video, so I just learn by trial and error. Great thing about digital, if the pic doesn't turn out, it didn't cost you anything (other than maybe missing a great shot!).

on my camara if i hold the button to take the picture about 1/2 way down and wait untill my little green flashing light stops flashing its all set to go when the subject is JJJJJUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSST RIGHT!
