The Geminid meteor shower has been amazing! I got up really early to watch.
Below 0 outside, but nice clear skies for watching. wink.gif

Shame you didnt get to see any Faaus, it sure was cool.
You can still see some, just not as many as you could on the 14th and 15th.

Here is info from a man in Guffey Colorado...

Picture also by him....

QUOTE
In Guffey, Colorado, an all-sky camera operated by Chris Peterson captured 111 of the brightest meteors on Dec. 12th - 15th:

"At least 65 are confirmed Geminids," says Peterson. "Several very bright fireballs are apparent, as well as the curved trails of Mars and Sirius."

The Geminids of 2007 began on Dec. 13th less flamboyantly than expected, but the shower quickly developed into one of the best Geminid displays in years. According to the International Meteor Organization, counts under ideal dark-sky conditions reached 140 meteors per hour. Dec. 15th produced an extra helping of fireballs making the night after the predicted Dec. 14th peak visually best of all.

Here is a link to a picture he took.

smiley-clapping.gif I have been enjoying them for several days now. They say one may be able to see up to 120 an hour. smiley-shocked003.gif I know just standing here in the valley (open skies) for 5 minutes last night, I was able to see six....It was worth the longer look I thought. happy112.gif They looked like hot embers from a fire falling from the sky. happy.gif Great sky show!!

O yea, my wife and i saw once through the city lights last week. It was brilliant and lasted long enough for me to shout "look!" and point her in the right direction to see it.
