These belong to a friend. He asked me what they were, I told him, I have no idea. Can you guys help identify these? Thx.

Looks like glass. I have a piece similar. Thanks cliff, I appreciate your help. It seems this type of glass is plentiful and of no significant value. I may offer to buy them from him. I'm working on getting an aquarium and they might look pretty cool submerged in water. They are pieces of glass - I had several like them in my fish tank in VA. I paid from 2.99 to 15 dollars for them (the rare earth ones were the higher dollar ones). Thankfully - they are usually inert, so harmless to the fish.
