While poking around on the forum I came across this old post while searching for arastras and the Paris Mill.

I thought folks might like to know about recent activities at the mill. Here are two websites with recent information. The construction work is scheduled to begin next week.

Preservationist in Plain Sight: Erica Duvic and the Paris Mill

South Park National Heritage Area

My specific interest in the Paris Mill is searching for the arastras in Buckskin Gulch near the mill. The first mineral survey in the area was for the Excelsior Lode, surveyed in 1868 and 1869., The plats include a lot that extended down to Fairchild Creek (now Buckskin Gulch). The original and re-survey plats and field notes show six arastras (valued at $1800) along the creek. The BLM has a website that hosts color scans of most of Colorado's mineral survey plats. The links below are for the original and re-survey plats (you may have to install viewing software to see them).
