I bought a 362c a couple years ago. The fancy new computerized saw where there are no adjustments at the carb.
I was having problems with it from day one and getting it to run right was a chore in itself. It seemed that a computerized carb with no adjustments should run flawless and better than a carb model?
Come to find out after numerous trips to the dealer that the first models were built with faulty carbs. Mine was an early one with the faulty carb installed. Stihl requires them the go through certain procedures which might fix the problem before carb replacement. The guy told me that none of it helps and they always need the carb in the end. They have been replacing thousands.
The procedures included resetting the computer numerous times, replacing a solenoid valve on the carb, and finally the carb itself. Also I was without my saw for months on end and a major hindrance for a guy like me. I have trees in the way of trees in the way of more trees.

So the dealer calls me today that my saw is fixed and the new carb is on and ready to go. My day went really good up until about this point.
I stop in to pick up my saw and he tells me the I have to pay for the carb but that they had reduced the price. I said whaaa? Back up here.
I expected that stihl would pay for whatever after I spent that much on a professional grade saw and I was fuming mad.
I said I ALREADY bought a carb and I'm not buying another one. He said you did? I said YEAH THE ONE IN MY SAW THAT DOESNT WORK!
The saw was sitting on the counter so I grabbed it and said well this is mine and I'm not paying for anything.
In my mind they could either fix my saw and give me what I paid for, give a new saw or my dang money back and Stihl can have their saw. He couldnt give me my money back he said and I figured hed say that.
Then he said he "couldn't allow me" to leave with the saw without paying at least a portion.
I said oh I'm leaving with my saw and you guys can eat that $120 for all I care.
I turned around and walked out the door with my saw and said too bad buddy. You treat people like that and this is going to happen.
I seriously thought he was going to follow me out in the parking lot but he didnt try to stop me which was probably a good idea at the time. I was so mad and I couldn't believe it was even happening and I was ready to strangle someone.
I've used Echo chainsaws for the last 20 years and never had any issues and they still run to this day as my backup.
Do these companies not even care anymore and they think that's ok?
The Stihl dealer is also the Napa in gunnison, where it all went down. I know those guys and spend alot of money there but there are other places to spend money.

Good news is the saw is fixed and runs like it should run now.

Come to find out this saw was sold and registered to a man in Hotchkiss and he apparently returned the saw before it was sold to me. So they knew there was a problem to begin with.
The owner of Napa has been calling me and we argued about it one day for about 15 minutes, his argument being that it was out of warranty. I said that's fine you did the work for free then.
He said he will call the cops and I encouraged him to do that as hes an ex cop and he knows how the system works haha. I can recognize a bluff when I hear it and he knows he will look stupid in court about this.
I've been in there once or twice for work stuff and they act weird to me but they havent brought it up and i doubted that they would.

Other than that I've found gold at Taylor Park in a virgin area and life is good! Whoohoo!
