yes its a 160volt d/c motor and close coupled gearbox and is variable between 0 and 100 revs per min. The barrel will turn at 35--40 revs this seems to be a good speed depending on the amount of clay--- where the clamp is in the pic there will be a turn screw with a spring to keep the wheels pressured on the barrel so if any thing jams the barrel the wheels will slip --- no breakages in the field lol voice of experience there grin
