So I have done some advanced calculations and have tracked where in Colorado, to within 7 feet, that meteors will land TONIGHT! Bring a net and see if you can snag one out of the air! Just kidding.....
Tonight is the peak of the orionids. The constellation Orion will not rise until around midnight, so peak viewing will be from around midnight tonight until 4 a.m. tomorrow morning. Estimated at 20-30 per hour, this year is expected on the lower end of the spectrum. You never know though, some years have experienced upwards of 100/hour. Maybe consider getting up early to watch the show and the getting out to dig by sun up! -------------------- Rock: Climb it. Dig it. Build your house upon it.

Should be good and dark on the Barite dig and though past the peak, we should be able to get some good ones in. Especially with no moon!

Looking at the Headlines from the local News Station, they say there is supposed to be a large Meteor Shower tonight. So if you are out and about you might want to look up once in a while, might see something.

Don't know about the rest of the state, but I think it is supposed to Cloud up and snow here in the springs, so odds are probably not good of seeing anything. But maybe someone will get lucky!

Yep you called it Crusty,
Last night I had to drive out to Silver Cliff, did a little work, then got back to the Springs around Midnight. I never saw a clear shot of the sky for even a second! -------------------- Proud CP Lifetime Member

That's too bad, considering you had to be out at night and it would have been a great opportunity to be out in the dark -------------------- Find Colorado Prospector on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/170314493176558

It was cloudy the other day but the sky was wide open last night.
![]() Saw a nice bright Geminid meteor shooting through the sky and it burned right into my brain. ![]() ![]() -------------------- Education is the key to the future,
