Several of us have been hitting Clear Creek in Jeff Co Open space hard this winter. I think I've been out for 8-9 days already this year! Kinda icy at times, but the creek is pretty low, so there is lots of area to work! A couple of us will be back out Friday if anyone wants to join us!

Well... I dusted off the highbanker and had an excellent CC day yesterday! After about 1yr... that HF started FIRST pull and ran all day without a hiccup, I couldn't believe it.
![]() This is what I would call a perfect foot-valve setup. Bucket is drilled like swiss cheese and weighted with rocks inside. No sand through the pump. The Gorilla Cart turned out to be great for pump portability and containment. ![]() -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! I'm impressed with those little motors. Glad you got out again, and with the banker; I'm excited to see what you collected!

I went approximately straight down the rocks from where we parked last time, I was a stone's throw from the Jeep. Very much the same type of material there except I never struck that blonde layer we were running into downstream a little ways. I'm sure that cobble depth varies. It was difficult getting equip up and down those rocks.

I'm impressed with those little motors. Worthy of note: I actually read the manual when I bought it, which I never do... but I did. It mentioned that running it at altitude requires a different (optional) carb jet which, of course, is not included and impossible to find. Before I ever ran it I installed a hotter plug to compensate for this right out of the gate. I'm not sure if that makes a difference with this motor but it is what my small engine mechanic recommended after he tried to find that jet without success. Also burning 91 octane. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Very Happy CP Lifetime Member CP CORE TEAM Referral Code CE213 |

I read that as well, but since I'm already at the high end (if not over) the water flow spec range, I figured having the motor running a little inefficiently is ok.

THat little Angus was killing it with the flour gold. I think Swizz is going to have a better cleanup running 6 buckets than I am going to with 4-5 hours with my 2.5" dredge. Just can't get the Gold Hog matting to hold on to the micron; even longtomed my Angus Alaskan Flare. Slow and deliberate is the way to go on CC!

Nice day on the creek today. Ran two sluices. I ran 6 buckets from a hole that I started last week that was showing good color. Ran 4 buckets through the other from a test hole behind a big rock in the middle of the creek.

Dos Angus!
![]() Spray some bedliner in the upper sections of those puppies. I did a write-up in the protected forum (Equipment Mods thread) when I was experimenting with that, really helps to "see" the Gold while you're sluicing, Every bucket tells a story. ![]() -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Checked it out, was in necessary to use spray paint as a primer before the bedliner? |

Probably not but I always use a primer on everything, but make sure the primer is PVC compatible if you do. Several thin coats of the bedliner is the most durable application.

I have seen it in some car part stores but not up here. I buy it from Amazon by the case because my Jeep undercarriage, grille, and a lot of other parts are coated with it. It's an amazingly strong product. It also bonds and blends well to itself for easy touch-ups.
