I think I would be regarding them as pets by now because you recognize them and they recognize you.... there's a connection. They'll lower their guard around you.
Maybe "pets" is a little assuming.... good friends? Either way, you have a cool little clan there. ![]() -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Very Happy CP Lifetime Member CP CORE TEAM Referral Code CE213 |

I think we have a dilemma or perhaps a predicament in our visual perspective.
I look at your bunnies and I see where you accentuate how cute, warm, and fuzzy they are~ I look at my bunnies, all warm and snuggled up right next to the potatoes and onions ~ I think they stop becoming “wildlife” if you feed them once or, … they feed you once. But if you set water and food out for them, and they kind of just hang around, well there is no fair chase in that. Them’s be pets and they are off limits for the table!!! -------------------- Proud CP Lifetime Member

Here's a juvenile Moose that visits the cabin I'm working on every day. His Mom just kicked him out so he comes over and eats the small Aspen in the morning. All I had was my cell phone so these are the best pics I could muster. If he ever grows into those ears.........

Here's a short vid of a friendly Fox from today. As soon as I went out of the garage... he goes trotting in.
![]() I let him scour around in there for a minute not really thinking much of it... and finally grabbed my Droid out of the Jeep, so I was able to film him sauntering out. He's not shy, will walk right up to you. I later found a dead Mouse in the garage. He came back and we tossed it to him. Cute little bugger. Another reason Colorado is such a great place to live. ![]() Link: Foxee -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! ![]() Beautiful Fox Chris! I love how big (fluffy) their tails are. Be very careful about how close you get though. Making it feel cornered and starteling it may cause it to bite you....and those teeth are razor sharp and ready for meat ripping. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Be very careful about how close you get though. Making it feel cornered and starteling it may cause it to bite you....and those teeth are razor sharp and ready for meat ripping. Agree! I know my limits with critters and always exercise caution. Reading their ears is always my first indicator. This little guy however.... is pretty well known in the neighborhood, very predictable and always snooping around for a handout. Sometimes he'll lay around at a jobsite waiting for breaktime then come over, sit down, and give everyone the sad eyes. This one is practically domesticated which I don't mind. I frown on folks feeding wild animals in general but.... it seems Foxes are the exception up here. Every neighborhood has a friendly Fox or two now. I wouldn't treat a Coyote the same way but these Foxes have been conditioned by virtue. Someone was telling me that there was a Fox Farm (breeders) up here years ago and that is the reason for the number and quality of Foxes now present. I'm not sure if that's the reason but we have a healthy population. They get a bad rap sometimes for disappearing Cats but I think the Coyotes are primarily responsible for that. I've seen the neighbor's Cat actually chasing an adult Fox! He's really tuff (or stupid?) but has lived a long life here so far. I believe Foxes know that Cats are way too much of a handful for a meal. Anyway... don't you worry about me gettin Fox-bit. They know I'll bite em back. ![]() -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Very Happy CP Lifetime Member CP CORE TEAM Referral Code CE213 |

Here is somethig you don't see every day,
I was along for the ride on a pizza run and seen a flash out of the corner of my eye. It took me a while to figure out what had just happened but this winged warrior had just barely missed the truck in his pursuit of his target. Once they get locked-on they don’t see anything else. I once hit a hawk that was diving for something on the side of the road. I couldn’t tell if this was a pigeon or a rabbit. He flew off just after I took the picture and the awkward movement of trying to fly with something that was still alive meant I was unable to see it clearly. -------------------- Proud CP Lifetime Member

Can't really tell, but it may be a small rabbit.
