Details on how to win the Opal Rockin' For Mining teddy bear.........

Do you know an individual who brings awareness to Mining, and how important it is?
Do they help by educating others (young or old) in out of ordinary circumstances?
We would like a small write up (in this thread) of the person, and why you have chosen them.
And you can't nominate yourself.

Now is the time to nominate them to win the bear.
They should get recognition for all their hard work!

Winning nomination gets the Opal teddy bear.
The person who nominated them will receive their choice of a guitar pick from the Miners Market.
(Excluding collector or set picks)

Ever sit and think.."Amazing how much of Earths resources we use everyday!"

Lets take this simple #2 Pencil for example.



Lots of people use this simple tool throughout their day, while most dont have the thought
"What does it take to make a pencil?" Earths Resources!
Lets break it down shall we.

*Petroleum for the eraser
*Zinc and copper for the brass fitting
*Iron machinery to shape it
*Various different minerals for the paint pigments
*Clay binder and Graphite combined to make the "lead" core

So next time you sit down to use a pencil, think about the importance of these resources and how they apply to you.

I think Im going to end this contest due to lack of interest.
Shame too, I could think of several people who could have been nominated.

Gave out 2 more stone guitar picks to a couple local musicians. They loved the fact that the material was mined and made into guitar picks by us right here in the valley. Makes one look at their environment a little different.

Too late for the contest but never too late to educate about the importance of mining! I might have another contest in this thread again.

Todd posted in this thread a lot but he is no longer with us. He was a truly talented man and will be greatly missed. Was way too young to loose his life! He donated two faceted Aquamarines from Mt. Antero so we could promote the site. We decided to use them this year as a prize in the club referral contest.
