I saw a post that another Member posted some Pyrography. This is also one of my preferred mediums. I will try to attach some photos of my work. I hope you folks like it. Almost all my art has a Western theme. I use photos of Native Americans for a lot of my pieces. I have done about 70 Pyrography pieces to date. I prefer using live edge slabs of poplar wood. I am not on this site to advertise, but since we are sharing hobbies and interests, I thought I would share mine.

Those are amazing! And they reminded me of something. Back when I was drawing a lot of pen and ink, I drew a lion, an eagle and two pictures of movie stars, I think one was Marilyn and I forget the other one. I thought that was rather coincidental. I don't know what I heck I did with them. My eagle was flying over a canyon with both feet extended out in front, getting ready to grab some kind of wild animal.

Hey Silky, I used to make stock pieces of pyrography for sale at shows. I tried to find common but interesting photos to use. Pyrography employs many techniques but it is common to use a photo and transfer or trace the image onto wood or other mediums. Some may think it easy, but tracing a photo and then using the trace to burn a detailed image is not as easy as it may sound. I trace only enough for landmarks then free draw the fine details, then burn it. Of course, the closer and larger the image is in a photograph, the finer the detail can be achieved. I will attempt to show you this in the attached pics of my work using an image close up verses farther away. You can see the results I am sure. The single subject has finer detail because it is closer than the piece with the two subjects and the horses. I try to explain this when a person wants a commission piece done but such is the nature of pyrography I suppose.
