Hello all, new to the forum here. Live in Fort Collins and grew up in Montana in the 1970's and 80's and regularly prospected for gold and sapphires. I have recently gotten back into prospecting for gold and purchased an Angus MacKirk sluice. I took it out the other day to 7 mile creek in the Manhattan area. I ran eight 5 gallon classified to half inch buckets from a couple of locations. Tons of black sand, but not much in the way of color. Anyway, look forward participating in the forum and learning some tips and tricks.

Hey Relic, I just recently moved to Ft Collins and use to prospect around Salida area. I haven't found anywhere to go in this area yet that I know is open area. I also have a friend that's New but itching to get out, maybe we can hook up some time. We are planning first trip to clear creek tomorrow(fri) and can't wait.

Hi KennyRay,

Unfortunately, we are in between the gold fields. Either have to go North to the Douglas creek area in WY, or South to Golden. I prospected 7 mile creek, up the Pourdre river last weekend. I ran 8 classified buckets through my sluice and found about 5 specks of gold, not worth the effort.

Pleasure meeting you guys today on Clear Creek. We'll have to do it again before the water comes up.
