I made this little stand to display my Campo slice.
Made from: Fiddleback Maple (scrap from knifemaking) Piece of driftwood from Lake Granby Rare Earth magnet (recessed about 1/16" into the driftwood as not to scratch the specimen) 1/8" dia Brass pin to connect the two woods Tools: bench sander and drill Level of difficulty: Easy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! That Looks awesome Chris,
I like the unique-ness of that holder. In the years to come it will be interesting for you to see how many people also ponder over the stand as well as the specimen. I have around 20 or so of those rare earth magnets I use for my test station and I keep breaking them. They are so powerful and brittle they break easy. Thanks for sharing your project, it looks good. Woody -------------------- Proud CP Lifetime Member
