A puzzle just for Dan & Denise....
Small mining community. Around early 1900s. In the south half of Lake county. What's the name and history? ![]() ![]() -------------------- Today's socio-political climate is rock solid proof that Adam and Eve weren't prospectors.
If they were they'd have eaten the snake instead of the apple and we'd still be in heaven.... |

Greetings All...
I knew the answer to this question before I even saw the first pic and those pics of the Derry / Corske / Box site made me a little misty-eyed. About a zillion years ago I had access to this area for fishing purposes for a couple of weeks each summer. At the time I had no interest whatsoever in prospecting so I never inquired as to whether or not I could poke around for the yellow stuff. I do remember that at one time there was a working mine just above the property on the south side and toward the west but have no idea if anything ever came of it. The fish were awfully finicky but if you caught them at the right time (and with the correct nymph) there was some fun to be had! :) Dang I miss the high country in Summer... |
