I have several large pieces which I would like to have sliced and/or book-ended. Possibly polished as well if specimens are desirable enough. Saw needs to be able to handle up to 12" sized cuts.
Are there any shops or individuals in the front range or mtns that offer this service?
Thanks.

I have a Lortone 14" slab saw, flat lap polishers, etc... I'd be willing to cut some up for you... what type of rock or rocks are you wanting to cut?

Hi Heff,
Thanks. I have 5 pieces. Three of them are petrified wood samples and are Jasper-like. The other two are much softer and either petrified wood, Ivory, or other.
Will your saw cut samples up to 14".... or is it a 14" disc?

The blade is a 14" circular diamond blade so no... it wouldn't be able to cut a 14" slab... I'm thinking you would need to find someone with a bandsaw style saw to cut something like that... I'm not sure about this but the oil I use to cut rock penetrates pretty good so I'm not sure I would cut ivory because the oil might stain it...
