Hey CP,
I had thought the same about the obsidian (that it was a softer stone). What type of wear occurs with stone picks in that 5-6 hardness range? I ask because I have played with lexan picks almost exclusively for the past 5 years and although lexan is an extremely hard for a guitar pick, I think it's hardness is 4.5 or less. One of the reasons I like lexan picks is because I found I don't wear them down despite the aggressive styles I often play. Is hardness a concern with stone picks in the 5.5 range due to cosmetic reasons such as damaging a nice finish on the pick? |
