I thought it would be fun to try and find the camouflaged critter in the photo.
I'll start off the thread with the picture only, and If no one finds it right away, I can come in and tell you what your looking for as a hint. Ok, here is the picture. Can you find it? -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Thanks Chris! There were several more ladies but they had already started to leave to the left when I took the picture.
I'm still thrown by your porcupine sleeping in the tree pic. Now that's talent!! -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Good eyes guys! What you can't see so well though is the birds head in the birds mouth....
Here is a closer look at what it was doing before it landed on that branch..... That bird sat there eating it for over 5 hours till the sun went down. Crack of dawn it was at it again for another 4 hours till it was gone. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Very cool! I didn't realize that it was a shrike. I haven't seen one of those in a very long time.

Good one Caveman, AKA the Butcher Bird! This was a kill of it's own, not a find. Seems they will eat birds in the winter since there are no toads, insects and the rodents are harder to get under the snow. Very cool birds indeed, we have a pair that has come around for a bit now. They love to come to the gate and call for the cat to come out and play. Drives her nuts but keeps her occupied.

Yes - The butcher bird. One of the few small birds that can actually do serious damage to a cat - if they feel threatened in some way!
Normally, though, they "play" with a cat. The game seems to be "How crazy came we make this furry critter before it gives up and goes away?" They are definitely better at it than mocking birds! -------------------- Caveman

Can you spot the hidden structure in this pic.
It's not the snowed-in Trappers cabin on the right nor the logs in the foreground on the right. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Very Happy CP Lifetime Member CP CORE TEAM Referral Code CE213 |

You got it!
It blends into the landscape really well, summer or winter. Has a fire pit in the center and an elevated wood floor. Comfy seating inside too. It was built by a professional teepee guy but I can't remember his name. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! this one was really hard, it took a long hard look before the outline revealed itself. Tipi's are some of the coolest tents, and this one sounds like it would be great for a extended stay if one wanted. The snow up there looks great, but sure grinds on the Ol cabin fever, Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Here's a pic of it with the sun shining after the snow and zoomed out a little to show Cascade Mtn in the background.
