Welcome back Crusty!
My work season is back in full swing right now... been working nights even. Not looking good for me to hit the creek for a bit unfortunately. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Very Happy CP Lifetime Member CP CORE TEAM Referral Code CE213 |

CC Canyon closed due to a rockslide today.... glad I'm not there for that! Happy Birthday relics, I hope you aren't there today. Was there all day yesterday. The slide happened after I got there, and was cleaned up before I left. Had no idea it even happened until I saw it on the news. I was wondering why there was no traffic. |

My daughter came with me yesterday and she ran about 5 buckets through a sluice I setup for her. I ran 7 buckets through my sluice and saw really good gold in the top of the sluice all day as well as the largest piece of gold I have yet to see in Clear Creek.

Nice! Where were you at there? Same MM as before?

Swizz, now that you worked the upper area and the old spot we were working a couple weeks apart, which are you thinking is a better spot? I know the upstream location will be a no go once the water gets higher, so I guess the lower will be where we end up anyway

I went downstream about 50ft further than we did last year on the other side (I think we were too close to fishing struc last year). The Gold was about the same from what I was seeing in my upper box section. I haven't done a cleanup yet but I'd say relatively similar results.
Hopefully my claims will be accessible by the time CC goes out of control, that would be good timing for me. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Very Happy CP Lifetime Member CP CORE TEAM Referral Code CE213 |

Had a great time yesterday, weather was great, had one brief 20 minute shower. It was nice enough all day, that my daughter wore shorts and a t-shirt. She decided to skip a college class and hang with her old man shoveling rocks in the creek.

Are you meaning that idiotic bike path they are putting in? Sorry, my opinionated side came out..haha |

I suspect he's referring to the water level and flow: USGS Clear Creek from April 2015-present.
The water will rise another foot or so, and the flow rate will spike around 2000ft^3/sec before coming back down over the next 5 months. Could be the bike path though; they need to get their heavy equipment off the spot I was working last year is what I truly know. -------------------- Lifetime Member

I was referring to runoff. The bike path doesn't bother me... I'm only there in the winter.

Here is the +50 gold cleaned up from my birthday sluicing adventure on Tuesday. Pretty nice piece off to the right. The chunky piece in the middle is gold with some other host rock. I dug a pretty deep hole and it paid off with larger gold, probably won't be as much fine gold I'm guessing. Will clean the -50 and -100 gold tomorrow.
