Self Cleaning Agitating Sluice
No longer listed
Large antique home made agitating/self cleaning sluice system. (mid to late 1950's estimated) Miners then
often used or reused material from the mines of old days. This one uses a narrow gauge rail/wheel sytem in the belt
jigging action which jigs off cam powered from engine and "up feeds" the sluice belt continually cleaning the sluice into it's
own lower holding box. Speed of the jig is adjustable as is the feed from hopper bin.
History and creation of this piece are from the old Lump gulch placer claim in Gilpin county Colorado where the Bucyrus
50-B featured on mega movers in 06' was located until recently.
This machine was designed to be used with a large trommel and the old steamer shovel processing placer aluvials. 90%
complete but in need of restoration, all water lines and mechanical pieces (adjustable jig speed) are there.....engine
needs replaced and water pump (present) will need a rebuild as well as the conveyor belt and holding/concentrate box
below. conveyor and box are all still there for rebuild data needed.
Machine also comes with a box of bearing races and misc parts. Hopper with adjustable feed gate includes
water spray jet system in hopper and water jets both above and below sluice belt itself. All jets have their own valves for
individual adjustments. Someone put lots of work into this creation and fully restored would be a sight to be seen for sure!
Located near Lake George (central Colorado) and pick up will be buyers responsibility. (flat bed trailer needed)
Axle under machine from an old model A or T but does not work so a trailer will be needed to haul off.
If sold at asking price, I will throw in multiple pulleys (medium and large) and one drag scoop (fresno) in great shape! All antiques!!
Own your own piece of american history and mining memorabilia!
